Alt-folk singer-songwriter Leeroy Stagger is set to release his new album, Pilgrimage, his first with Cordova Bay Records. Due out May 29, the album was co-produced with his longtime friend and collaborator Joel Plaskett.

About Pilgrimage:
Finding the connection between my Celtic Highland Bardic Traditions and a modern-day quest to spread the news through song and to build community answered a part of the puzzle. Putting those thoughts and feelings to tape helped answer some of the rest. There would be no better person to shine a light on the path and guide the creative work than my pal Joel.

PILGRIMAGE is the sound of coming to grips with my twisted and strange path, but also the sound of friendships forged in creativity and trust. Stack it all up on a cranky old 1/4-inch 8-track tape machine from the 1970s (a Tascam 388), put it in a room full of old friends, and here you have it. The recording has a raw, analog vibe. It's old school and about as real as it gets. The medium isn't grandiose; it's small. You have to lean in and really listen. It's not as hi-fi or polished as most modern recordings, and that's by design. I needed something very real and raw, not clinical, not perfect, but deeply human. Rare in these times we find ourselves in.
