Tony D — Electric Delta CD
'Widely respected as one of Canada's great blues and roots music guitarists, Tony D's new release 'Electric Delta' shows many sides of his talent.”— Holger Petersen
Tony D, known for his role as guitarist of MonkeyJunk, has worked as a full-time professional musician for over 40 years. He began his musical journey on the guitar, learning predominantly blues, rock, and jazz. His teachers were Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Albert King, Wes Montgomery—basically any vinyl record he could get his hands on! At the age of nineteen, Tony was given the opportunity to spend three days playing rhythm guitar for the legendary Buddy Guy. A few years later, he had the prestigious opening slot for the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre (NAC).
Tony D on Electric Delta: In writing and recording this album, I truly discovered my own voice. For many years, I focused on guitar while Steve Marriner took on the vocal role in MonkeyJunk. For Electric Delta, I worked hard and received strong guidance to develop myself vocally, and I'm thrilled with what I have produced.
